Ester ( Hadasa ) Ente Kacaite ( Kats )
was born in Kaunas , Lithuania
on 15 Dec. 1894.
She was the first child
of Miriam (1875-1941)
and David (1868-1920).
Her younger brothers
were called Israel and Shimon.

Her mother was of the Yapu family.
A famous one in the Jewish community.
Distant relatives of Avraham Mapu.
The famous Jewish writer from Kaunas.

When Ester Ente and Aleksandras Ziselis
moved to British Palestine in 1936
they took her mother with them.
She stayed at their new home.

Israel and Shimon remained in Kaunas
when the second world war started.
they were murdered a few years later
along with their family members
and the vast majority
of European and Lithuanian Jews.

By the end of the war
Ester did not have
any family member
left in Lithuania.
